Kaitlyn Williams debuts new live record, “Under These Lights”

It doesn’t take more than a minute on her Spotify to realize Kaitlyn Williams is a pro. Her album, “Sunset" displays a carefully curated body of work that can only be described as authentic - like Williams herself. But anyone who has seen Kaitlyn Williams perform knows her live show is in a league of its own. Denver’s renewed appreciation for live music aside, there is something special about leaving a show feeling like you truly know an artist and for Williams’, there is no higher priority. In her first ever live record, she has fulfilled that mission with “Under These Lights”
This collaboration with Downbeat Denver and The Lodge at Woods Boss is a testament to how artistry attracts artistry - a concept that is not lost on Kaitlyn Williams. “Since I realized how magical my band is, that’s how long I’ve wanted to do this”, she says. And now, for the first time, that magic is accessible on all streaming platforms.

“Under These Lights” features the unmistakeable guitar stylings of Connor Terrones. Terrones’ accuracy and precision is something that is rarely matched with the expression he brings to the instrument. After 6 years, this has become an irreplaceable part of Kaitlyn Williams’ sound. Experiencing Williams and Terrones play at a corner bar any given night is exceptional enough, but combine that with her two other band mates, Dan Quisenberry and Jordan Henderson - and you’ve got an unbeatable combination. “You want to know what’s crazy? I don’t think I had a single note for Dan the entire live record” says Kaitlyn “and Jordan brings a really fresh style to my sound rooted in gospel and soul, which is really yummy” Listening to “Under These Lights”, it isn’t hard to see what Kaitlyn Williams sees in her band.
Of course, the most special thing about “Under These Lights” is exceptional in large part due to the community Kaitlyn Williams has created around her art. “Despite their obvious incredible musicianship they’re just good people and good friends, who have turned into family.”
